EWA Hosts Sneak Preview of National Report on Early Childhood Indicators
Journalist Only Webinar
Journalists will get an early opportunity this week to review Education Week’s newest Quality Counts report, which includes a special focus on early childhood education indicators. The report will evaluate states on their efforts to expand early childhood education and examine how new academic demands and accountability pressures are altering the learning environment for young children. Join EWA for a Jan. 7 webinar to learn more.
The new report offers an analysis of participation in early education programs, poverty-based gaps in enrollment and trends over time. It grades states on how well they implement early education programs. In addition, with this report, Quality Counts returns to its longstanding practice of grading the states on their performance at the K-12 level. However, this year, the report focuses on outcomes, rather than evaluating state success on policies and processes.
The EWA webinar on Wednesday, Jan. 7, at 1 p.m. EST will feature the Education Week Research Center’s Christopher Swanson and Holly Yettick to explain their findings, and will be moderated by Lillian Mongeau of The Hechinger Report. Reporters registering for the webinar will have an opportunity to obtain an embargoed copy of the Quality Counts 2015 report. The embargo lifts on Jan. 8 at 12:01 a.m.
