Zakia Redd is a research scientist at Child Trends with more than 15 years of experience studying how programs and policies directed toward low-income families affect child and adolescent outcomes. Prior to joining Child Trends in November 2009, Redd was a senior research and evaluation officer at The Wallace Foundation for three years. She previously worked at Child Trends for six years as a senior research analyst where she conducted and managed evaluations of youth development, early childhood and adolescent risk-behavior prevention programs. Redd holds an undergraduate degree in sociology and African American studies from Oberlin College and a master’s degree in public policy from Georgetown University.
