Tim Meegan was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago. He attended Northern Illinois University for a degree in history and National Louis University for a master’s degree in education. He is a National Board Certified social studies teacher at Roosevelt High School in Chicago, where he has taught a variety of subjects to grades 9-12 for the past 11 years. He is also an education activist, fighting against over-testing, charter proliferation and privatization of public schools. Meegan is currently running for city council in Chicago’s 33rd ward, where he lives with his wife and two boys.
