Sue Klein is the education equity director of the Feminist Majority Foundation, co-chair of the National Coalition for Women and Girls in Education’s single-sex education task force, and co-president of the Clearinghouse on Women’s Issues. Klein joined the Feminist Majority Foundation in 2003 after 34 years in the research offices in the U.S. Department of Education, where she focused on dissemination, evaluation and gender equity. She has written over 200 publications and edited the 2007 Handbook for Achieving Gender Equity through Education and its 1985 predecessor. Her recent research includes the multi-year studies, Identifying U.S. K-12 Public Schools with Deliberate Sex Segregation and The State of Public School Sex Segregation in the United States. Her 1970 doctorate in educational psychology is from Temple University, and her master’s degree is from the University of Pennsylvania. She received a variety of awards for her publications and leadership.
