As executive director of the University of Texas System’s Institute for Transformational Learning, Steven Mintz is responsible for making a quality education more accessible, affordable and successful through innovations in curricular design, pedagogy, educational technology, delivery modes, and student support services. The prize-winning author of 14 books, including “Huck’s Raft: A History of American Childhood” and “The Prime of Life: A History of Modern Adulthood,” he came to Texas from Columbia University. A former fellow at Stanford’s Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences, Mintz has chaired the Council on Contemporary Families and served as president of the Society for the History of Children and Youth and of H:Net: Humanities and Social Sciences Online.
