Sherri Cerni has worked in education for five years teaching language arts and English and is currently the AVID Coordinator at Franklin Boys Preparatory Academy, where she was recently voted Teacher of the Year. Cerni also serves in district training, is a Classroom Teachers Association representative, National Junior Honor Society advisor, and takes on many other leadership roles within her school. Cerni has a love for speaking about her passion for education. She has spoken in front of the Hillsborough County School Board on behalf of all new teachers, presented at the National Writers Foundation in Chicago on behalf of Hillsborough County, Fla., in regard to the Empowering Effective Teachers Evaluation System. She has also presented at the Hillsborough County Single Gender Summer Institute in 2013 and 2014. Prior to working in education, Cerni was the vice president of marketing for Dun & Bradstreet Health Plan Services, one of the nation’s largest managed care health plan administration outsourcing firms. Cerni holds a master’s in education leadership from Saint Leo University and a bachelor’s in English from Florida State University.
