Shane Jimerson is a professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara in the department of counseling, clinical and school psychology in the Gevirtz Graduate School of Education. With over 300 publications, including 25 books, his award-winning scholarly publications and presentations have explored the developmental pathways of school success and failure, the effectiveness of early prevention and intervention programs, and school psychology internationally. Topics he has focused on include bullying, school violence, school crisis prevention and intervention, student engagement, and grade retention. Jimerson is currently editor of the School Psychology Quarterly journal, past president of Division 16 on school psychology of the American Psychological Association, and president-elect of the International School Psychology Association.
