Roxanne Garza is a policy analyst with the Education Policy program at New America. She is a member of the PreK-12 team, where she provides research and analysis on policies and practices that impact teaching quality and school leadership. Prior to joining New America, Garza worked at Citizen Schools as the deputy director of public policy where she combined policy analysis with direct advocacy for policies impacting expanded learning time, national service, and STEM education at both the national and state level. Garza has also worked on higher education and workforce policy at the Center for Public Policy Priorities and the U.S. Department of Education. She received a master’s degree in public affairs from the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin and holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Texas at Austin.
