Rebecca Honig is the director of content and curriculum at Ready4K, an evidence-based family engagement solution delivered via text message. Honig leads the content development process for all of Ready4K’s programs and writes many of the Ready4K messages. Before joining Ready4K, she served as a curriculum specialist and writer for Sesame Street. Honig has also written dozens of activity guides and resources with a focus on hands-on learning in math, literacy, science, health, and safety. Additionally, she has written and produced over 50 segments for the Emmy Award winning show The Electric Company. Her career has included such highlights as revising the latest edition of Scholastic’s Big Day PreK, serving as Mo Willams’ education advisor, creating parent and classroom resources for PBS, HITN and WGBH and serving as an education advisor for Disney. Before jumping into content development, Honig spent ten years teaching in economically disadvantaged communities and running expressive arts programs with children ages 4-12.
