Randy Bomer is the Department Chair (Interim) of the Department of Educational Administration in the College of Education and professor of curriculum and instruction at The University of Texas at Austin, where he also directs the Heart of Texas Writing Project. Formerly a middle and high school teacher, he has consulted with urban school districts across the U.S. Prior to arriving at UT, he taught at Indiana University, Queens College of the City University of New York, and was the co-director of the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project for five years. He is a former president of the National Council of Teachers of English.
