Patrick Riccards is the chief communications and strategy officer at the Woodrow Wilson Foundation, where he oversees all external relations for WW’s work in teacher education, post secondary education, and STEM. He also serves as director of the WW American History Initiative, a new effort to transform how civics is learned. The former CEO of the ed reform group ConnCAN and executive director for communications and public affairs at American Institutes for Research, he has also served as executive director of the Pennsylvania STEM Initiative and de facto chief of staff for the National Reading Panel. Riccards is known on social media for his blog and Twitter feed, @Eduflack, and has won numerous national awards for his work in education communications and public engagement. He is the author of an award-winning book on parental engagement and editor of a widely recognized book on research-based reading instruction.
