Mikaila Arthur is chair and professor of sociology at Rhode Island College. She has published three books on topics ranging from comparative law to student movements for curricular change in higher education. Her primary research expertise is on organizational change in higher education, particularly diffusion and internal contention as drivers of curricular and related change, as well as on regional comprehensive universities generally. She has also published on pedagogy in the social sciences, and her primary teaching expertise is in social science research methods. In addition, she serves on the executive committee of her faculty union and on a variety of strategic planning initiatives and is involved in local politics in her state of Rhode Island.
