Lydia Dobyns is president and CEO of New Tech Network, a nonprofit organization with 14 years of experience supporting district heads, school leaders and teachers to ensure that students gain the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in life, college and the careers of tomorrow. Over the past decade, New Tech Network has emerged as a leader in U.S. education innovation. Her vision is a nation where every public school has the capacity to realize the full potential of each student. New Tech Network is well on its way to demonstrating this can be done in every type of community in this country within existing school districts. Currently, the Network consists of more than 160 K-12 schools in 25 states, Washington, D.C., and Australia. Dobyns’ career span includes significant arcs as a tech executive, entrepreneur and with the education sector as an elected official and education foundation executive. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of California, Berkeley.
