Lloyd Thacker is founder and director of the Education Conservancy, a nonprofit organization dedicated to reforming college admissions in the public interest. Thacker works as writer, public speaker, consultant, convener and advocate. He is the editor of “College Unranked,” published by Harvard University Press, and has led efforts to develop alternatives to college rankings. Thacker and his writings have been featured in national media, including The New York Times, The Chronicle of Higher Education, Inside Higher Ed, The Boston Globe, The Washington Post, The Seattle Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic Monthly, The San Francisco Chronicle, Money Magazine, USA Today,  and Trusteeship magazine. Thacker has appeared on CNN, CBS Evening News, NPR, the Today Show, and Dan Rather Reports. He holds degrees in political science from the University of California, San Diego and the University of California, Davis.
