Kelly Young is the president of Education Reimagined, a national nonprofit that is convening over 500 learner-centered leaders to actualize a learner-centered vision for America’s education system. Education Reimagined arose from an 18-month initiative at the national organization Convergence, which she led among 28 ideologically diverse education practitioners to reimagine our system of education, shaping individualized learning pathways that each young person can follow to develop critical thinking, relational, creativity, and collaboration skills. Prior to this role, she served as the interim chief of the Office of Family and Public Engagement for the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS), where she helped implement home visits and other high-impact family engagement strategies. During her tenure, she also led DCPS’s strategic planning process that engaged thousands of students, teachers, parents, and community members in a Hopes and Dreams campaign that ended in a 5-year district-wide plan.
