Karen Smith Conway is a professor of economics at the University of New Hampshire, where her research and publications pertain to the evolution and effects of state tax policy, the economics of the elderly, and the household production of health and educational outcomes. One central focus of her research is to develop a deeper understanding of state and federal estate, inheritance and gift (EIG) taxes and income tax preferences benefiting the elderly and the role these policies play in elderly interstate migration and labor supply behaviors. The other focus is the effect of policies on how households allocate their time and resources to activities that improve health and student achievement.
