Joshua Kim is the director of digital learning initiatives at the Dartmouth Center for the Advancement of Learning (DCAL). This new position in DCAL serves as a central point for developing and coordinating digital learning programs across Dartmouth. Prior to starting this role at Dartmouth in December 2013, Kim was the director of learning and technology for Dartmouth’s Master of Health Care Delivery Science program. At the MHCDS program, Kim helped to build Dartmouth’s first graduate online/blended degree designed for working professionals. He has been at the forefront of developing learning technologies since 2008 at Dartmouth and previously at Brittanica.com Education, Quinnipiac University, and as a member of the faculty at West Virginia University. Kim is best known for his daily Inside Higher Ed blog, Technology and Learning. Kim has a doctorate in sociology and demography from Brown University. He has taught both traditional and online courses in sociology, marketing and higher education leadership.
