John D. Musso brings over 40 years of experience to his current position as executive director of the 8,000-plus member Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO). Prior to taking the helm of ASBO, Musso served as chief financial officer for the District of Columbia Public Schools, where he was responsible for the oversight and supervision of the $2 billion budget. A veteran educator, Musso has also served as a teacher, principal, deputy superintendent and school district chief financial officer. He is a Certified Association Executive and a Registered School Business Administrator, is certified in conflict resolution, and is a skilled presenter and published author in the areas of leadership and school finance. Musso has been recognized with the Colorado Teacher of the Year Award, the Colorado School Business Official of the Year Award, and ASBO’s International Distinguished Eagle Award for lifetime achievement, among other honors.
