John Cronin is senior director of education research for the Northwest Evaluation Association, headquartered in Portland, Ore. His recent research is focused on providing consumer education as it relates to the use of tests for school accountability and educator evaluation. His team connects universities, research institutes and foundations to schools throughout the U.S. and abroad to pursue research projects to improve student learning. Cronin is a featured presenter and keynoter at conferences including recent presentations for the National Association of Elementary School Principals and the school administrator professional associations of New York, Texas, Virginia, South Carolina and Oregon. His recent publications include articles in Phi Delta Kappan, The Huffington Post, the National Association of Secondary School Principals leadership journal, and the Texas Association of School Administrators Insight journal. Cronin is a former high school teacher and administrator and holds a doctorate in educational studies from Emory University.
