Jean Johnson is a senior fellow at Public Agenda and serves as vice president of the National Issues Forums, a nonprofit network that hosts open citizen forums on major public issues. Her books include “You Can’t Do It Alone: A Communications and Engagement Manual for School Leaders Committed to Reform,” published in 2012, along with a trio of voter issue guides co-authored with Scott Bittle and published by HarperCollins: Where Does the Money Go?  Your Guided Tour to the Federal Budget Crisis in 2008; Who Turned Out the Lights? Your Guided Tour to the Energy Crisis in 2010; and Where Did the Jobs Go—and What Can We Do to Get Them Back? in 2012. At Public Agenda, she has written dozens of public opinion studies on issues ranging from K-12 education to higher education to healthcare. A graduate of Mount Holyoke College, she also holds master’s degrees from Brown University and Simmons College.
