Janet D. Williams is an associate dean with the Riley College of Education and Leadership at Walden University. She oversees the Teaching, Learning, and Professional Licensure Division, which includes educational licensure programs, early childhood studies programs and master’s and doctoral degree programs in education. Previously, she was associate dean at the University of New Orleans; state director for teacher licensure and assessment; university faculty member for educational leadership; curriculum and instruction and mathematics education director for the New Beginnings Charter Schools in New Orleans; P-12 public school administrator; and P-12 mathematics and gifted education teacher in Florida, Colorado, Hawaii and Louisiana. Williams’ service with professional associations includes reviewing college mathematics education programs for the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. She has evaluated programs for the U. S. Department of Education Office of Innovation and has been recognized as a Florida Regional Teacher of the Year and a district mathematics teacher of the year. She maintains an active agenda of research and professional presentations.
