Gary Marx is president of the Center for Public Outreach in Vienna, Virginia. Among his recent books are Twenty-One Trends for the 21st Century…Out of the Trenches and into the Future, published by Education Week Press, and Future-Focused Leadership…Preparing Schools, Students, and Communities for Tomorrow’s Realities, published by ASCD. For 20 years, Marx served as a senior executive for AASA, the Superintendents Organization. As an education futurist, he has done energizing keynotes and workshops on six continents and visited 81 countries. Gary Marx is a prolific writer who has for decades addressed most topics in education. His organization, CPO, is a future-oriented international consulting firm dedicated to enhanced organizational and individual leadership, insightful planning and project development, effective public relations and communications, sound education for children and adults, significant communities, and viable democracies. He served on the EWA Board of Directors during the 1980s.
