Francis “Skip” Fennell is the L. Stanley Bowlsbey professor of education and graduate and professional studies emeritus at McDaniel College, where he continues to direct the Elementary Mathematics Specialists and Teacher Leaders Project. Fennell is a past president of the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators, the Research Council for Mathematics Learning, and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. Widely published in professional journals and textbooks related to PreK-8 mathematics education, Fennell has also played key leadership roles for the Mathematical Sciences Education Board, National Science Foundation, and the U.S. National Commission on Mathematics Instruction. He was a writer for the Principles and Standards for School Mathematics, the Curriculum Focal Points and for the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics. Fennell served as a member of the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation Commission from 2012 to 2013 and currently serves as vice-chair of the CAEP Board of Directors.  He is also currently the mathematics advisor for the Emmy award-winning PBS shows “Peg + CAT” and “Odd Squad.” Fennell has received numerous honors and awards.
