Francis Eberle is the National Association of State Boards of Education’s deputy executive director. He previously led the National Science Teachers Association and the Maine Mathematics and Science Alliance, which both focus on advocating quality science education and education policy. At NASBE, he works with staff to build a strong portfolio of work across several disciplines. He supports state boards of education across the country in understanding the content, process and implications of state education policy through one-on-one consultations and facilitating state board retreats. He has been a middle school science teacher and is now an adjunct professor at George Mason University Graduate School of Education in Fairfax, Va. Eberle graduated from Boston University and the University of Connecticut. He received his doctorate from Lesley University and attended Harvard Business School’s executive management program for nonprofit management. He is an educator at heart, and demonstrates effective leadership in nonprofits.
