Ed Allen is the president of the Oklahoma City American Federation of Teachers. He has held a number of positions in education and the private sector; he has been with the Oklahoma City American Federation of Teachers, Local 2309, serving teachers and certified staff of Oklahoma City Public Schools since 1992, and he has been president for the past 15 years. He has held numerous positions with the Knights of Columbus, works with adults with developmental disabilities, and was a member of the Oklahoma Teacher Leader Effectiveness Commission for multiple years. He currently serves on the executive board of AFT-Oklahoma and as a trustee of the Oklahoma AFL-CIO. Allen is a graduate of Southwestern Oklahoma State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in political science.
