Deven Carlson is an assistant professor of political science at the University of Oklahoma. His research analyzes the operations and effects of a wide range of education policies, including school choice, accountability, and standards and testing. His work also explores the politics of education policy at both the state and federal levels. His research has been published in journals such as Sociology of Education, Educational Evaluation and Policy Analysis, the Journal of Policy Analysis and Management, the Journal of Urban Economics, the Economics of Education Review, the Policy Studies Journal, and Educational Policy.
