David Hawkins is the executive director for educational content and policy for the National Association for College Admission Counseling based in Arlington, Va. Hawkins has worked for NACAC since 2000 and is the creator and editor of NACAC’s State of College Admission report. Immediately preceding his tenure at NACAC, Hawkins was appointed by President Bill Clinton to serve as a Congressional affairs officer at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Hawkins’ prior experience includes service as research director for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Hawkins received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in government from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va.
