Catherine Compton-Lilly is an associate professor in curriculum and instruction at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Compton-Lilly teaches courses in literacy studies and works with professional development schools in Madison, Wis. She has a passion for helping teachers support children in learning to read and write. Her interests include early reading and writing, student diversity and working closely with families. Throughout her career, Compton-Lilly has been involved with various teacher research initiatives and is a strong advocate for developing knowledgeable teachers that are committed to continual learning and improved practice. Compton-Lilly is the author and editor of several books and has published widely in educational journals.
