Barbara is the Executive Director of the Brady Education Foundation (BEF) whose mission is to close the opportunity/achievement gap for children living in low-resourced and under-represented communities. The Foundation pursues its mission by promoting collaboration between researchers and educators. On the BEF Board of Directors, Barbara represents the practice community. Raised in Seattle, she received her initial Montessori training at Seattle University and later went on to work in Montessori schools in five states. Today she is a retired early childhood and elementary educator with over twenty-eight years of experience as a credentialed Montessori teacher, school founder, consultant, and school principal.
