Andrew Latham is the director of the Standards, Assessment and Accountability Services (SAAS) program at WestEd. Latham works closely with national organizations, states, schools, and districts to develop innovative solutions for assessing and setting standards for students and teachers. As SAAS director, Latham oversees assessments for both general education and special populations, as well as alignment studies, standards reviews, and research on appropriate standards and fair assessments for all student populations. Latham also directs the national Center on Standards and Assessment Implementation, which supports states’ transition to new standards and assessments for college readiness. Prior to joining WestEd, Latham served in various executive roles at Educational Testing Service (ETS), including leading large-scale K–12 assessment and teacher licensure programs. Latham earned a bachelor’s degree in English and American literature from Harvard University, a master’s in English literature from Boston University, and a doctorate in educational psychology from Temple University.
