I am a retired Newark (NJ) Public Schools teacher. I was a member of AFT affiliate Newark Teachers Union. My nearly thirty years experience teaching ESL in diverse, urban environments includes children and adults from prekindergarten to community college. Guest posts have appeared on Ed Notes, a blog run by retired New York City teacher Norm Scott. I am an advocate for teacher voice and labor rights.
