Sarah Johnson is a research specialist for the Education Writers Association. She conducts research that aids in the planning of EWA content and supports other EWA programs.
Prior to joining EWA, Sarah was an elementary teacher in Kentucky and Ohio, where she primarily taught 4th grade math. She was the president of her local education association in Kentucky, and has a particular interest in the intersection of education and politics. Sarah started her career as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Republic of North Macedonia, where she taught English as a foreign language.
Sarah holds a master’s degree in education policy and leadership from American University and a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Eastern Kentucky University.
