Lindsey Cook is the data editor at U.S. News & World Report, where she manages news products and analyzes data of interest to U.S. News readers. In May, Cook, along with her colleague Lauren Camera, released a project on Title I and inequality in school education funding. The project relied on public data, but published the data in interactive tools where readers could look up their school districts. Cook is also an adjunct professor at American University, where she teaches in the interactive journalism master’s degree program. In 2013, she was selected as an AP-Google scholar by the Online News Association and embarked on a year-long research project on student retention in undergraduate computer science programs.
