Jim Spyropoulos is the executive superintendent of equity and inclusive schools at the Toronto District School Board, Canada’s largest school district, with approximately 260,000 students in nearly 600 schools. In this role, Spyropoulos is responsible for the infusion of equity and inclusiveness into every element of the district, with a specific focus on teaching and learning. Integration of student, parent and community voice into the daily work is a critical part of this work. Previously, Spyropoulos was a family of schools superintendent in the Toronto district and served as an administrator in three secondary schools within the school system – Emery Collegiate Institute, Newtonbrook Secondary School and C. W. Jefferys Collegiate Institute – before becoming a supervisory officer in 2007.
