The Teacher Project
Jessica Huseman is an education reporter at The Teacher Project, which covers the next generation of America’s teachers for Slate. There, Huseman focuses on data-driven and investigative work within K-12 education. As a former teacher, she is most interested in telling the stories of schools in underprivileged communities, both urban and rural, and discussing the systematic issues that challenge teaching and learning.
In addition to Huseman’s work with The Teacher Project, she is also a contributing writer for The Hechinger Report, a nonprofit, independent news organization focused on inequality and innovation in education. You can find her recent freelance work at ProPublica, The Atlantic and the Dallas Morning News.
