Howard Blume has covered education for the Los Angeles Times for more than a decade. He is a past winner of the top investigative prize from the L.A. Press Club and a past Journalist of the Year Award-winner from the L.A. chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. He co-hosts the public affairs show “Deadline L.A.” on KPFK-FM, which has won the top prize for radio public affairs from the L.A. Press Club. He previously covered education for the L.A. Weekly for 10 years and was managing editor of The Jewish Journal. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Harvard in English and American literature, and a master’s in journalism from the University of Southern California. He also teaches tap dancing.
