Archie Cubarrubia
Vice Provost for Institutional Effectiveness

Archie P. Cubarrubia serves as vice provost for institutional effectiveness at Miami Dade College. He provides leadership for the college’s strategic research, planning, assessment and evaluation activities. Prior to joining Miami Dade College, Cubarrubia spent close to a decade at the U.S. Department of Education leading several of the agency’s high-priority and high-profile activities related to postsecondary access, affordability and accountability under the Obama and Bush administrations. He oversaw the National Postsecondary Education Cooperative (NPEC) and directed research and development activities for the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS). He also served as the designated federal official for the federal advisory committee on Measures of Student Success and was the principal analyst for former Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings’ Commission on the Future of Higher Education. Cubarrubia began his career in higher education directing student success programs at Boston University, Northern Arizona University and the University of Rhode Island. He earned his doctorate in higher education administration from The George Washington University.
