Allison Kowalski is a program specialist at the Education Writers Association. She helps to plan content for EWA seminars, conducts research and writes for the organization’s website, and supports other EWA programs. Her primary area of focus is higher education.
Prior to joining EWA, Allison covered the fight to increase the minimum wage in D.C. for the Washington City Paper and investigated poor housing conditions in the district. She also interned for the Student Press Law Center, where she wrote about the challenges facing student journalists. As an undergraduate, Allison worked as a news editor for the George Washington University’s student newspaper, The Hatchet, where she covered the university’s health center transition and campus events.
Allison graduated in 2016 from the George Washington University with a bachelor of arts in journalism and political science.
