Braun launched Pencils of Promise in 2009 on just $25, which has since grown to support the construction of more than 300 schools in developing nations. Braun’s business savvy, dedication to community-building and resolute belief in the power of education have empowered hundreds of thousands of young people around the globe, and brought him to the national stage though his NYT bestselling book, “The Promise of a Pencil: How an Ordinary Person Can Create Extraordinary Change.” Braun will now share his insights and lessons on ACTE’s stage before the largest national gathering of career and technical education professionals dedicated to preparing every student for college- and career-success.
CareerTech VISION 2015 also marks a new collaborative effort between ACTE and the National Association of State Directors of Career Technical Education Consortium (NASDCTEc) that brings the in-depth Career Clusters Institute content into the VISION fold. Thousands of education professionals will gather in New Orleans to learn from these and hundreds of other sessions, as well as a massive expo showcasing 200+ ed tech products and services. ACTE members and the education community at large are invited to join us to learn about the innovations that will drive a new wave of student success and inspire attendees to make a difference.
