NEW Charter School Policy Database
The National Association of Charter School Authorizers (NACSA) released a new resource for journalists and stakeholders that catalogues charter school authorizing laws and regulations across all 50 states and the District of Columbia, allowing stakeholders to explore the national policy landscape, see how their state compares to others, and examine specific policy areas, including access and equity, expansion and replication, and default closure.
- How many and which states have a definition of what a “high-quality” charter school is?
- Where are for-profit operators prohibited?
- How many states allow charter schools to give diversity-based admissions preferences?
Find out these answers and more in NACSA’s new National Policy Index (NPI).
This Index is the first comprehensive charter school authorizing law and regulation database, demonstrating the depth and breadth of today’s charter sector.
The National Policy Index is available at policyindex.qualitycharters.org/.
