WASHINGTON, D.C., February 12 – The American Educational Research
Association has announced a new award for excellence in news
reporting on education research. The AERA
Award for Excellence in Media Reporting on Education
Research will be presented to an individual in the media
who has demonstrated excellence in raising awareness, knowledge,
and understanding of education research. The inaugural award will
be presented at the 2016
AERA Annual Meeting.
Award recipients will be persons who have made noteworthy
contributions to reporting on findings, bodies of research, or
scholarship in the field of education research in any medium of
public communication. The award honors a media professional whose
work exemplifies promoting a broader vision of the value of
education research to society.
The deadline for nominations is March 8,
2016. The call for nominations can be found
online here.
Nominations can be submitted using the AERA submission
