Texas 4th-Graders Ranked 45th Nationally in Reading Last Year. It’s Not as Bad as it Sounds
The so-called “Nation’s Report Card” came out Tuesday, and Texas fourth-graders posted some of the lowest scores in the country, ranking 45th out of 50 states and District of Columbia. Eighth-graders weren’t much better, ranking 41st in reading on the National Assessment of Educational Progress.
It actually is not that bad.
