Separate and Unequal
Frontline documents the growing trend returning toward “separate and unequal” schools for American children. It focuses particularly on the movement to carve out a wealthier section of the East Baton Rouge Parish into a new town and creating a new school system. The new town of St. George would leave the Baton Rouge school system segregated and poor.
It’s a growing movement across the South and the U.S. and Frontline uses the one example as a lens examining whether the efforts to desegregate American schools will come to naught.
