Rhode Island School Board May Sue Woman Over Race Theory Public Record Requests

The School Committee is considering suing a local woman who filed some 200 requests for public records over how race and gender issues are integrated in classroom curriculums.  The committee’s chairwoman said Wednesday the requests were part of a national strategy of a “racist group.”

Nicole Solas, a 38-year-old mother who lives in Wakefield, says she began filing the requests through the state’s open records law after school officials refused to answer questions about the department’s use of “critical race theory” and gender theory practices.
