If the principal of West Boca Raton High had submitted the commencement speech he gave last month to the popular online teaching tool Turnitin.com — as many students across the county are required to do with their assignments — his speech would have scored a stunning 87 percent.

Stunning, because the score basically means 87 percent of Principal Mark Stenner’s 905 words were lifted from another source without credit to the original author. It’s a score that would warrant a failing grade on a written assignment in many Palm Beach County high school classrooms.
