Grade Changing Investigation Spreading to Other Shelby County Schools
The investigation into improper changes to students’ transcripts is expanding beyond Trezevant High School.
An audit found high rates of grade changes at other schools that need to be investigated, Shelby County Schools Chief of Communications Natalia Powers said.
Board chairwoman Shante Avant said board members advised Superintendent Dorsey Hopson to extend the district’s contract with Dixon Hughes Goodman, the audit firm SCS used as part of the six-month investigation into Trezevant that was released this week.
Avant said the contract extension was worth less than $100,000, meaning it did not require a vote of the board.
