On Common Core And PARCC: Federal, State Education Officials Are Advocates

Yet, a growing number of officials in Massachusetts school districts are deciding that they want to either opt out of the administering the PARCC test or allow parents to opt their children out.

Last week, the Worcester School Committee followed the Norfolk School Committee’s lead and decided to give parents the option to keep their children from taking the test and several more are following suit. In her blog, Worcester School Committee member Tracy O’Connell Novick lists a running tally of districts that she learns of where members have made the same decision or are discussing the option.
