Senior Editor, Education K-12
The Education Dive: K-12 Senior Editor role is the perfect fit for an experienced education journalist who can lead our coverage of K-12 education and edit all kinds of content at a high level.
The Senior Editor also reports and writes high-impact features that set the agenda for the industry. We expect you to pitch ideas for the team and yourself and to help the reporters pursue ambitious stories based on your keen observations and K-12 knowledge.
The ideal candidate is well-sourced with the Department of Education, major K-12 associations, urban and rural school districts and their leaders, nonprofits, think tanks and other important stakeholders. The Senior Editor will also represent the publication at industry events and speaking engagements.

What you bring to the table:
- 10 years of proven business editing, reporting and writing experience. K-12 education journalism experience strongly preferred.
- High-level content editing of briefs, articles and high-impact features with sharp headlines that resonate with a niche audience.
- Ability to think strategically and to manage big projects and new endeavors.
- Ability to pivot quickly to meet the changing needs of readers and the publication.
- An established social media following that can enhance the scope and reach of the Dive’s content.
- Deadline-oriented time-management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English or similar field.
