We are seeking a Media Affairs Associate for our Washington, DC (Georgetown) office.

Responsibilities

AIR seeks a mission-driven communications professional to liaise with the media and other stakeholders on new social science research and social policy perspectives through direct contact and online channels. The job entails relationship building with reporters and editorialists, writing press releases, outreach strategizing, developing press lists, and working with staff on framing and presenting their messages and findings.

Qualifications

Candidates should have at least four years of journalism related experience, excellent writing skills, a knack for collaboration, related experience with either education or health research and evaluation, imagination, an open mind, and a strong work ethic. Ability to work closely with other members of the AIR’s communications team is expected. A Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communication, education, social science, or English and at least 7 years of related experience required. A Master’s degree and 4 to 7 years in one of these fields or public policy preferred. International experience is a plus.
