Organizational Summary: University Communications & Marketing (UCM) is responsible for producing and promoting university news, coordinating media relations, managing crisis communications, conceiving and implementing advertising and communications campaigns, producing university publications, and maintaining major university websites.

Position Summary: The Executive Communications Manager is responsible for managing day-to-day speech writing and social media engagement for the University of South Florida’s Office of the President. The position will report to the AVP for Public Relations and Communications, and will collaborate closely with the USF Communications and Marketing office on all relevant initiatives.

Responsibilities: Social Media engagement across a variety of social media platforms on behalf of the Office of the President that aligns with the overall strategy of the university. Attend a variety campus and community events to provide live coverage and social media support. Build and communicate regularly with peer networks of University leaders, community influencers and research experts in an effort to elevate USF’s reputation in the academic community nationally and internationally.

Responsible for completing day-to-day speech writing and other correspondence needs on behalf of the USF President to ensure impactful outreach and engagement with key communities that aligns with the overall strategy of the university.

Create and manage executive communications content calendar that aligns with over-arching communications/public relations goals. Collaborate with internal UCM teams to deliver key messages across the President’s channels in the form of original, high-quality content that advances the university’s goals.

Other communications duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, public relations, technical writing, digital media, or related field, with 4 years of experience in related positions; or a Master’s degree in the fields listed above and 2 years of experience

Preferred Qualifications: Degree in marketing, public relations, or related field of study is required as a strong base of knowledge is essential in performing the job duties for this position and in this industry.
